1. PM Narendra Modi inaugurates a two-day National Legislators Conference at the Central Hall of Parliament House.

5. Prakriti to be first Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) woman combat officer.

  • 25-year-old Prakriti has been inducted as the first direct-entry combat officer in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
  • The ITBP is the last of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to induct women officers in combat roles after the government first allowed it to enroll them in 2016.

9. Former Maharashtra minister Patangrao Kadam passes away at 72.

  • Mr. Kadam joined the Congress and was elected to the state Assembly four times from Palus-Kadegaon constituency in western India. Kadam also founded Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, an educational empire which is spread across the state.
  • He held key portfolios such as cooperation and forest in the Congress-NCP government. The late leader also served as chairman of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

11. Mauritius President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim to resign over financial scandal claims.

  • Mauritian President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim is to resign after becoming embroiled in a financial scandal, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth announced.
  • Ms. Gurib-Fakim, who is the only woman head of state in Africa, has been accused of using a bank card provided by an NGO to make personal purchases and will step down after ceremonies to mark the 50th anniversary of independence on March 12.
