  • The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Gold Coast 2018, were an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018.
  • Borobi the blue koala has been announced as the official mascot for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
  • The host nation Australia topped the medal table for the fourth time in the past five Commonwealth Games, with 198 medals (80 gold, 59 silver, and 59 bronze) holding first position and England in the second position with 136 medals (45 Gold, 45 Silver, and 46 Bronze).
  • Followed by India in the third position with 66 medals (26 Gold, 20 Silver, and 20 Bronze) and Canada in the fourth position with 82 medals (15 Gold, 40 Silver and 27 Bronze).
  • Vanuatu, Cook Islands, and the Solomon Islands each won their first Commonwealth games medals.
  • Birmingham officially named as 2022 Commonwealth Games host city in England.
  • Previously, the 2014 Commonwealth Games were held in Glasgow, Scotland.
